The Ultimate Weekend of Triathlon is an exciting and challenging weekend that hosts three different components - a Friday swim, a Saturday cycle, and a Sunday run. With the option of completing a complete triathlon on the Saturday at the Triathlon @Ellesmere.
You can take part in one, two, or all three disciplines so as always, there is something for everyone and the opportunity to take home one, two or three of the jigsaw medals!
The event starts on Friday with the swim, which takes place in a stunning lake setting. This swim is open to all participants and is a great way to start off the weekend.
Choose from either a 2.4 mile, 1.2 mile, or 0.6 mile swim challenge in the fabulous Mere.
On Saturday, the cycling component of the event takes place. This is a challenging ride that takes participants through the beautiful Shropshire countryside, providing stunning views along the way.
You can choose from the Ultimate 112 miles, the Half 56 miles, or the Quarter at 28 miles ride.
On Sunday, the weekend concludes with a run. Participants can choose to take part in a marathon, half marathon, or quarter marathon, depending on their fitness level and personal preferences. The entire run course is closed to traffic with parts alongsidethe picturesque Mere.
Included in this weekend of Triathlon is the Triathlon @Ellesmere on the Saturday. This triathlon consists of a open water swim, countryside cycle, and closed roads run, and is a great way for participants to test their endurance and skill. Take on an Olympic or Sprint distance triathlon or put together a team for onee of the two Relay distance events.
These events attract participants of all levels, from beginners to experienced athletes.
There are trophies for Top three finishers for the Ultimate Full, Half and Quarter Weekend. And top three places in the Olympic and Sprint in the Triathlon @Ellesmere.
There will be age group awards for first place finishers in every five year age group for the Ultimate Full, Half, Quarter Weekend, and the Triathlon @Ellesmere Olympic, Sprint distances.
Every competitor that enters the Ultimate Weekend events will receive an individual medal for each of the swim, cycle, run disciplines and those taking on the full ULTIMATE WEEKEND CHALLENGE will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
