The Event

Trentham Estate will play host to the Stoke-on-Trent City of Sport Triathlon with distances to suit all abilities from novices to top triathletes. Everyone is welcome!

UK Triathlon is proud to be working with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to bring you this unique opportunity at the award winning Trentham Estate. The weekend will offer a range of events for both kids and adults with distances to suit all abilities and with fantastic facilities on offer at the Trentham Estate including a shopping village, eateries, kids play area, monkey forest, Italian gardens and on-site hotel there really is something for everyone.

Take on a swim, bike, run triathlon in 2017 over a distance you can achieve. Choose from Fun, Super Sprint, Sprint or Olympic distances and if you don't want to go it alone then encourage two friends and sign up as a relay team!

Why not enter the Club Team Challenge?

Throughout the day the top 5 placed competitors from any club (from any distance) will automatically be entered into our special Club Team Challenge. The winning club will receive a bespoke Pottery Trophy which will be designed and produced just for them by one of the renowned local pottery artists from Stoke-on-Trent.

The Trentham Estate will be hosting an high-profile triathlon, including an Elite Men's and Women's Race with international TV coverage of the event.

Super Sprint & Fun = 1 lap of the short course = 200m

Sprint & Sprint Relay = 2 laps of the long course = 750m

Olympic & Olympic Relay = 4 laps of the long course = 1500m

Due to the length of the run from the swim finish to the cycle transition area and the different type of ground conditions underfoot, there is a compulsory shoe transition.  When you make your way to the lake for the start, wear either your running shoes for the final run discipline or a spare pair of running shoes.  Next to the lake start and finish pontoon will be a shoe transition area where you lay out your shoes.  There will be numbered bays to help you remember where you put your shoes.  When you exit the lake you enter the shoe transition area to put on your shoes before you commence the 600 metre run (or walk!) from the swim finish to the cycle transition area.



Swim Course Information

  • Swim Course = 750m Sprint & Olympic (Zone 3 Red Buoys)

  • I lap for Sprint & Sprint Relay = 750m

  • 2 laps for Olympic & Olympic Relay = 1500m

  • Swim Course = 200m Super Sprint & Fun (small round red Zone 3 buoy will be the 100m turn point)

  • Swim Start: There will be a pontoon set up for all competitors to enter and exit the water

  • Water depth: between 6 and 10 feet

  • There will be approximately 12 safety crafts on the water, alongside 2 safety boats

  • There will be a short run from the lake to the Cycle Transition area, you are advised to take a pair of trainers with you, near the swim exit a shoe transition will be set up

  • 1 lap for the Super Sprint & Fun (short course)

  • The Run will start and finish on the event field

  • Your turn point (Olympic Only) to complete a lap will be on the event field
